Buckfast Ordinariate Group yesterday welcomed Mgr Andrew Burnham as the principal celebrant and preacher at their Sunday mass. Fr Andrew assists the Ordinary in the pastoral care of ordinariate groups in the 'west' region. We appreciated very much his exposition on the Epistle especially helping us understand the context in which it was written.
Following mass we convened in the Violet Evelyn Hall for cake and tea. One of Fr Andrew's responsibilities is developing the liturgy of the Ordinariate and it was therefore very pleasing to hear his positive comments about our worship. Being his first visit to the group we were also encouraged by his general comments about us. We went on to discuss various matters with him about how the ordinariate is developing, what our challenges are, and some thoughts about where God is leading us.
We appreciated the trouble Fr Andrew had taken to visit both us and the Torbay group, travelling three hours from Oxford, in order to be with us. Thank you Father.
