Ordination at Buckfast Abbey
A small group of people gathered in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Buckfast Abbey today for the ordination to the diaconate of David Silk. Bishop Christopher Budd administered the sacrament with warmth. He paid tribute to David's extensive ministry in the Anglican Communion. A very nice touch was to see Bishop Budd using one of David's Australian Crossiers, carved in the shape of a tropical bird. Mrs Silk helped David to vest in dalmatic. Our prayers are offered for Deacon David as he prepares for his priesting on Friday.
